Catra clipped on devices like cell phones and iPods, then detect the eye lens. Tool that can map the position, size, sharpness and density of cataracts.

''I like to think this is like radar for the human eye,''said Director of Camera Culture Group at the MIT Media Lab.

The device can also find out the changes in the lens is not blurry and detect cataracts faster than standard tests. Researchers at the Media Lab hopes Catra useful for physicians, especially in developing countries. Furthermore, the tool supports the reduction of cases of blindness.

Media Laboratory is working on a series of eye-care project. In 2010, they develop all Netra application that allows users to check the eye via the phone.
