Google has finally launched a payment solution over the phone with the Google Wallet service that can be used starting on Monday (9/19/2011). With Google Wallet, a person can become a kind of mobile wallet and payment can be done to bring the phone to a means to pay at checkout via near field communication technology (NFC) which has been applied in a number of smartphone models.

"We've tested it extensively, and today we released the first version of the application on Sprint," wrote Osama Bedier, vice president of Payments Google on the company's official blog on Monday. Nexus smartphone users who subscribe to Sprint's 4G can try the service via OTA (over the air) update.

For a while, this new service supports payment with Citi Mastercard credit cards and Google Prepaid Card. Especially for Google users Prepaid Card will get a bonus of 10 dollars if activate it on Google Wallet until the end of the year. However, in the future will also be supported by Visa, Discover, and American Express.
