Google's Android platform represents 53 percent of the smartphone market in the U.S.
Board of market research, The NPD Group, has issued a report on the smartphone market in the U.S. from January to October 2011. "Competition has been dominated by Google and Apple handset providers to force companies to make major changes," said Ross Rubin, Executive Director of Connected Intelligence for The NPD Group.
Google's Android platform represents 53 percent of the smartphone market in the U.S., or up 11 percent from 2010. This distinction because of the rapid increase in 2009 and Android in the U.S. market only 9 percent.
For Apple IOS has grown to 29 percent. IOS in the U.S. market share could decline. In 2009, IOS users as much as 24 percent, but in 2010 fell to 21 percent.
