Symbian OS in intense smartphone competition



Based on data from StatCounter Global, Symbian controls 30.95 percent of the market in November 2011, up from 29.84 percent in October. While the BlackBerry operating system, controls only 8.44 percent of the mobile market in November. Far left of the three other operating systems globally.

However, this figure is different to the UK market. In this country, IOS is the operating system most widely used. In November 2011, IOS employed under the market share of 41.26 percent and BlackBerry came second with 32.72 percent control. Android held third position with 20.36 percent of the market. Meanwhile, Symbian, it controls only 2.59 percent in the UK mobile phone market.

Last week it was reported that sales of the iPhone in the UK in October 2011 exceeded sales of Android devices. This increase was fueled by sales of the iPhone 4S in October, because the trend is widespread.

IOS Apple's market share in mobile phone operating system market (feature phone and smartphone) world continues to increase until succeeded beyond Android, Symbian though still in the top position.

In November 2011, the market share of IOS 24.2 percent, up from 23.48 percent in just one month. Google's operating system, Android differ only slightly with the market share of 21, 9 percent, down from 22.11 percent in October.

This figure shows the intense competition between the IOS with Android. However, it is still a Symbian mobile phone operating system most widely used.
