Samsung and HTC're connected to BlackBerry 10
Research in Motion (RIM) is reportedly going to take quite a surprise. Canadian BlackBerry vendor is reportedly licensed the BlackBerry software will be used so that other vendors such as Samsung and HTC.
The possibility was presented by Peter Misek of the agency market observers Jefferies & Company. He stated that according to the news circulated, Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis will no longer serve as chairman at RIM and was replaced Barbara Stymiest.
"We believe she (Barbara-ed) will initiate a strategic review, perhaps by cutting costs in the hardware business and announce additional partnerships," Misek wrote in a research note.
Quoted from Fox Business, Sunday (01/08/2012), Misek believes RIM has plans to license the use of the operating system or homemade software to other vendors. Including Samsung and HTC.
"We think this case has been started with the RIM BlackBerry likely will license 10 to Samsung, HTC and possibly others as well. This will help create a mass for the ecosystem and maintain a monthly income of RIM service," he added.
But not explained whether the vendors like Samsung and HTC will use it and whether they are interested. For both of them being focus on improving OS Android which proved profitable.
