LAS VEGAS - PC World proclaimed, Monday (01/09/2012), Chief Technology Officer of the USB Implementers Forum said that smart phones and tablets will likely get a MicroUSB port, USB 3.0 based technology to fit its small size.
The ports allow higher speeds in data transfer between handheld devices with the master device such as a PC. Some PCs, is now equipped with USB 3.0 technology, but most are still using USB 2.0 technology. The average speed achieved approximately 100Mbps data transfer, or in the rough can reach 800Mbps.
"The former takes 15 minutes, roughly, will turn into a 1 minute 10 seconds," .
Although, the performance of data transfer on mobile devices is much slower than the raw count for the performance of USB 3.0 technology on a PC, which reached 5Gbps. However, data transfer using USB 3.0 is to transmit the data of that size, require more power, so it is not compatible with handheld devices.
Recently, Intel reportedly intends to push the technology Thunderbolt (rival USB 3.0) to reach out to handheld devices. However, most PCs were introduced in recent years even has Thunderbolt as well as USB 3.0 port. This indicates that both technologies are equally exist.
USB 3.0 port will reach out to advanced smart phones and tablets at the end of this year or early next year. This port will allow faster data transfer.
