As usual, Microsoft declined to comment on rumors of new tablet of Xbox Surface 7-inch.
Microsoft is reportedly developing a new tablet device. Equipped with ARM-based processors from Texas Insruments and RLDRAM 2 288MB, the new tablet is designed specifically for gaming purposes.
Not yet known what name will be used by this tablet device. The Verge tech site called the ni as "Xbox Surface 7-inch".
As a given name, the new tablet device is predicted to use a 7-inch screen that has a resolution of 1280 x 720.
According to The Verge, the specification could be changed to accommodate the Intel SoC that is still yet to be announced.
Unfortunately, this one tablet devices will not use the full Windows operating system. Microsoft prefers to run Xbox Surface 7-inch in the Windows kernel that has been customized.
As a tablet device, Microsoft will continue to provide messaging features. Only, Microsoft is going to put more emphasis on the Xbox gaming features 7-inch Surface.
Just like Surface, Microsoft keep development meetings this new gaming tablet. Most likely, Microsoft will produce Xbox Surface 7-inch outside the plant partner.
Xbox console itself is produced in a factory partner Microsoft. Reportedly, Microsoft's next series consoles, the Xbox 720, will be produced at Pegatron and Foxconn.
According to other news from The Verge, Microsoft employees have restricted access rights to visit the Interactive Entertainment Business division. This is done because Microsoft is testing this gaming tablet device.
