RIM Playbook's sales continued to decline

RIM Playbook only able to sell as many as 500 thousand for six weeks in the first quarter of this year. Sales continued to decline in the second quarter, to only 200 thousand units. As a result, a number of outlets has decided to cut the sales price Playbook.

BlackBerry manufacturer, Research In Motion (RIM), has not given up to fight in the tablet market. Although the Playbook, RIM's tablet computer, continues to bleed in the market in rival king tablet from Apple Inc., the iPad.

Not to mention, Playbook should have to deal with new-generation tablet, Kindle Fire, from Amazon.com. Kindle Fire, which was launched last Wednesday richer content at a price of only U.S. $ 199.

Situations like that make a number of people had time to analyze: RIM will immediately stop the production of Playbook. One of them on Thursday, semiconductor industry analyst from Collins Stewart, John Vihn, RIM confirmed it had stopped producing devices. "... Considering RIM to come out of the tablet market," said Vihn in his analysis.

But RIM immediately provide rebuttal on the report. Playbook news production halt is called as a figment. "The news that said the production halt BlackBerry Playbook is pure fiction," said a spokesman for RIM Marisa Conway, as written by Reuters news agency.

Conway said that RIM remains committed to working on the tablet market and continue to develop QNX platform in the future. QNX is an operating system used by the Playbook. Even RIM claims will launch a new device which they call 'superphones' next year. QNX will replace the operating system in use today.
