Goldman Sachs gives up handling the sale of Vertu, Nokia's luxury smartphone

As reported by Ubergizmo, Nokia seems to trouble selling cell phones Vertu at a price of 16,000 U.S. dollars. While Nokia sells more phones in the price of 200 U.S. dollars. Nokia itself seems not so eager to create luxury mobile phones with exorbitant prices.

Nokia is rumored to be selling the business unit that manufactures luxury smartphone, Vertu. That is because the competitive conditions of business smart phones (smartphones) are increasingly stringent.

As mentioned by the Financial Times, a source who declined to be named told that Nokia has appointed Goldman Sachs to handle the sale of the subsidiary.

Several other sources explained that there were a group of equity and the company is interested in buying luxury brand Vertu. But until now there has been no comment from Nokia about sales Vertu.

Vertu is a manufacturer and seller of luxury mobile phones based in the UK which also became part of Nokia's business. Vertu mobile phone concept is similar to Rolex watches that use materials from gold, silver, sapphire and other luxury materials.

In general, three types of cell phones Vertu is the Vertu Constellation (measuring 109 x 45 x 15.7 mm), Vertu Signature (Gold Vertu and Vertu Diamond is a product derived from the Vertu Signature) and Vertu Acent measuring 108 x 44 x 22 mm.
