HTC smart phone manufacturers from Taiwan, reportedly is developing a new operating system for mobile phones. The plan, the phone will be marketed specifically for consumers in China.

A source told The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Wednesday (08/28/2013), this move is a big bet for HTC, as well as give hope to increase sales and bring in profits for the company.

Several years ago, HTC was had expressed its intention to build its own operating system.

HTC chairwoman, Cher Wang, reported as the official in charge of monitoring the development of the operating system. HTC is also in discussions with the Chinese government in order to market the phone with the new operating system, which will be marketed late 2013.

Sources WSJ reports, the phone will be integrated with several popular Internet services in China, including Weibo.

HTC has been quite a long time to sell phones under its own brand in China. Prior to 2010, the company sells mobile phones in the Bamboo Curtain country with the Dopod brand.

A Chinese official, has said, the smart phone industry in the country was too dependent on Android. Chinese government hopes there is another unique operating system which is able to reduce China's dependence on Western companies.
